Note of the meeting of the National Forestry Stakeholder Group - 05 October 2023

The National Forestry Stakeholder Group met for a sixth occasion to:

  • consider the analysis of the consultation on the future of forestry grant support
  • discuss the report from Forest Research (commissioned by Scottish Forestry) on the carbon sequestration benefits of creating different types of woodlands

The meeting was chaired by Paul Lowe, interim Chief Executive of Scottish Forestry.

The Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary responsible for forestry recently hosted a Woodland Creation Summit at Battleby Conference Centre, Perth and Kinross, on 12th December.

Delegates from a wide range of companies and organisations directly involved in supporting the delivery of woodland creation projects were invited.
